Hi, I’m Jess—the heart behind MindEd.
This mission started long before I ever stepped into a classroom or earned a degree. It started in fourth grade, when I was a quiet, insecure little girl who dreaded school because of relentless bullying. I remember exactly how it felt to shrink myself, to question my worth, and to believe—deep down—that I didn’t belong. That chapter stayed with me. And years later, when I stumbled across an old story I had written as a child about a girl who hated her smile, it hit me: I’ve been working toward this my whole life.
After becoming a teacher, then a school administrator, I saw those same struggles show up in the classroom every day. I saw bright, capable kids shut down because they didn’t feel seen, heard, or confident in themselves. And no matter how strong the academics were, learning simply couldn’t happen if a child was battling low self-esteem, friendship drama, or anxiety about fitting in.
That’s why I started MindEd – Bravery & Belonging. This isn’t therapy. It’s not tutoring. It’s something we’re missing in schools today: real, one-on-one coaching that helps kids build confidence, navigate friendships, and feel proud of who they are. I meet students where they are—virtually or in person—to give them the tools, language, and mindset they need to thrive socially and emotionally. And yes, their grades often go up—but more importantly, so does their belief in themselves.
As a mom of two young girls, I understand how deeply we want to protect and empower our children—but also how hard it is when they won’t hear it from us. I step in as that third-party guide who can say, “Hey, I see you. You’re stronger than you think. And I’m here to show you how to shine.”
This is my purpose. To help kids grow into brave, kind, emotionally intelligent humans. To give parents support and peace of mind. And to help our education system evolve into something more compassionate, more complete.
Because when a child feels good about who they are, everything changes.
With over five years of experience as a classroom teacher and experience as a school administrator, I’ve seen firsthand how confidence and connection shape a child’s ability to learn and thrive. I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, as well as Arizona certifications in both elementary teaching (K–6) and school administration (PreK–8).
But beyond the degrees and titles, I bring deep empathy, lived experience, and a passion for helping kids feel seen, valued, and strong — inside and out.
